My life the way it is and the way I wish it was [01 Jul 2008|01:02pm]
This is my life:
I wake up (sometimes early enough to get to the gym, usually not)
I go to work (I'm always late)
I sit at a desk for 8 hours (9 if you count lunch) and contemplate gauging out my eyes because that's how bored I am, I also wonder how I got here because this was not what I had in mind when I graduated from college.
Then I sit in traffic for close to an hour and when I finally get home I find my house usually a mess, dinner not made and probably dishes left over from the night before.
I make dinner..sometimes I clean up, sometimes Bradley does them but only at 11 pm after I've asked him to do them 10 times, or I just don't even bother and the dishes don't get done.
I always manage to find myself on the couch watching crap I don't care about, because it sucks me in.
I go to the gym (hopefully).
Come home and shower and go to bed way later than I should.
And then I get to start it all again the next day!

This is the life I wish I had:
I wake up early and go to the gym (everyday)
Come home and make myself a healthy breakfast and feed my puppy.
Shower
Then spend the next 4 hrs. writing (which someone pays me to do)
Break for lunch (eat something healthy, maybe meet a friend)
Play with my puppy
Get back to writing for a few more hours
Then make a healthy dinner for myself and Bradley in my clean kitchen.
Put the dishes in the dishwasher and clean up.
Spend the evening with Bradley relaxing or going out (which we can afford to do because we actually have money)
Go to bed early, EAGER to do it all again the next day!

So, I guess to get my ideal life I need to make a few changes in my current life.
1. Less mindless television, more writing to eventually get paid.
2. Go to bed earlier so I'm able to get up at 5am everyday for the gym
3. Oh, and we need a dishwasher (I think we need a whole new kitchen, but Bradley thinks all our problems will be solved with just the dishwasher!)

I will get there, it's not too late!

Uh huh... [20 Jun 2008|10:42pm]
It's become increasingly apparent that wedding planning is taking over my life! I swear I sit down to look at one thing online and 16 hours later I'm still looking at stuff! I think I should be banned from anything wedding related (besides going to the gym) for the duration of the summer. I need to concentrate on the book and also changing the way my body currently looks.

Seriously, there are like 500 things to look at when it comes to wedding crap!

Actually, I think I might start a wedding planning blog since I like reading them so much. But not til the summer's over...one project at a time!

wedding photographers cost what??? [22 May 2008|09:30pm]
So Bradley and i met with our first wedding photographer for the tonight. We both like her and her photos but of course it's the price that is making us drag our feet. She's expensive but as far as wedding photographers go she's reasonable. Until we add on the $1000 album and then it gets a little high, but how can we get all those photos made with no album to display on our coffee table? I wish I knew how to make flush mount photo albums myself! Dammit, why don't they offer THAT class in college??

After I trudged up four flights of stairs you'd think she would have at least partially accepted my offer to let her advertise at my wedding in exchange for a cheaper price!

I do love her though, out of all the photos I've looked hers were the best in my opinion.

Maybe I'll just get a second job to pay for her...

new camera [24 Mar 2008|11:11pm]
I was planning on buying the Nikon D40 digital slr but now I keep hearing a lot of people use the Canon Digital Rebel. Which one is best? I already own a Canon Elan IIE but I don't use it anymore since i have no access to a darkroom.

Choosing a new digital camera. Help! [12 Jul 2007|12:08pm]
Does anyone know anything about the Nikon D40? I need a new digital camera and I'm deciding between a cheap digital or a more expensive SLR.

Some of the options:

Nikon Coolpix S10 AND L6
Canon Powershot G7 and S3 IS

OR the SLR Nikon D40

Or I'm open to other suggestions.

Also, if anyone has any book or music recommendations please share.

Ok, so I'm doing some research and would really appreciate honest answers to these questions...

1. What is your favorite dessert?

2. What would you pay for a ...
cookie?
brownie?
cupcake?
2 layer cake?
flourless chocolate cake?

3. What is the last thing you bought at a bakery?

4. How much would you pay for 6
cookies?
cupcakes?
brownies?

5. What matters more for you, taste or price?

6. Would you order baked items from a website?

Thank you!!!

installing a bathroom floors= not so much fun [03 Sep 2006|10:21pm]
The booy and I are installing a new floor in our bathroom. We thought it was going to be easy (at least i did) it is NOT easy! The tiles keep shifting, you can see the seams, cutting for the edges is friggin ridiculous as the bathroom is not even all around. And on top of it all, we're not entirely sure we like the way it looks. Personally I would just put wood floors throughout the whole house but i guess there not so good for a bathroom. But if I had the money, bamboo floors throughout the whole house! oh and I'd pay someone to do it.

Haven't posted in a looooonggggg time but I'm lying in bed, my feet are hurting and I thought, hey why not post, not sure what one thing has to do with the other but whatever! Nothing much going on besides the constant packing that I've been doing, moving in like two days. That is if everything goes well and we close on this house, it should go fine as I've already threatened people with death if something goes wrong and i doubt anyone wants to see what I'll be like if it comes to that! Maybe I'll do a little list of things I'm looking forward to, yeah I'm sure everyone wants to read that!

Things I'm looking Forward To:

1. My walk-in closet
2. My huge kitchen
3. Well, let's be honest, the whole house!
4. Decorating and remodeling (I think I need to get a second job at Lowe's Home Improvement Store)
5. My rose bushes
6. Planting the raspberry plant I bought
7. Planting other fruits and vegetables
8. My puppy having a yard to run around in
9. Grilling like every night
10. Eating better
11. Going back to yoga
12. The massive basement that will provide a lot of space for projects
13. Not moving for many years (but not too many)
14. Hosting parties in my basement which also has a bar

I'm totally in love with this house and all its possibilities! I will cry and also be homeless with everything i own in a u-haul truck if something goes wrong. Then I will kill someone.

wall print [20 Mar 2006|03:06pm]
I want to do a large screen print on a wall. Nothing too involved, probably only 1 or 2 colors. Would it better to do it on fabric and hang it? Just do it right on the wall or skip the screenprinting altogether and use a stencil? What do you all think? Thanks!

long time no update... let's see the significant things in my life right now....

i got a pink razr phone!
i'm going to look at a house for the second time- a house that is perfect- front and back porch, yard, garage, partially finished basement complete with a separate room perfect for screen printing and possibly even a dark room! i love this house, who knows, maybe soon i will own it! did i mention it has hardwood ceilings? not floors ceilings they are so pretty! it's out of our price range but we're gonna offer them something lower and see what happens, the house has been on the market for awhile and is already empty so the owner is paying two mortgages now they might just be willing to take the offer.
beyond the house hunting not much else is going on.
my hair smells really good right now, i can smell it as i sit here, that's a weird thing to say, right? oh well.

the other day i ran into a guy from my photography class i took months ago and he remembered one of my pictures i took (double exposures) it was awesome that he remembered a photo of mine, it made me miss the darkroom.

new projects are beginning with spring coming. i'm pretty excited, more excited than i've been in a long time.

Went to nyc on Saturday. Wander around, drank a mojito (nasty) got as close to drunk as I've ever been. Went to some stores, ate dinner at 7A, went to a Sin-E to watch friends' band play. On the way home the Holland tunnel was closed so I went across the Brooklyn bridge, got lost in Brooklyn, finally made it to the BQE and on my way home. Got home at 4am. The longest I stayed out in quite awhile. The trip reminded me of why I love nyc. I wanted to go to the Yaffa Cafe but went to 7a, oh well it's good to try new things.

Tired and have sore throat. Off to bed.

the things that come from boredom @ work [30 Dec 2005|11:25am]
1 . What did you do in 2005 that you'd never done before?
I got a puppy! I also finally found a place I can call home.

2. Did you keep your new year's resolutions, and will you make more for next year? I did not, last year's was to learn to race cars and although I do drive fast, I doubt it would really be considered "racing" more like "speeding." I'm not sure about this year. I almost think resolutions just set you up for failure.

3. Did anyone close to you give birth? No.

4. Did anyone close to you die? No.

5. What countries did you visit? None. That has to change this year.

6. What would you like to have in 2006 that you lacked in 2005? Financial Stability and a home I OWN.

7. What date from 2005 will remain etched upon your memory, and why? The day I moved into the first place that made me calm

8. What was your biggest achievement of the year? I have not done too much this year, maybe my biggest achievement was learning to cook/bake---cleaning up my credit was nice too.

9. What was your biggest failure? Not finding a job I could see myself at for an extended period of time

10. Did you suffer illness or injury? Kidney stones, but they're not new

11. What was the best thing you bought? I'd have to say my puppy, but really I didn't pay for him (well not yet)

12. Whose behaviour merited celebration? Hmm...

13. Whose behaviour made you appalled and depressed? My stepfather does that on a regular basis

14. Where did most of your money go? To rent and bills, and I wouldn't say "most" I'd say "all."

15. What did you get really, really, really excited about? I haven't gotten that excited in a long time

16. What song will always remind you of 2005? Maybe "Sugar, sugar" by Fall Out Boy since it's played all the time.

17. Compared to this time last year, are you:
I. happier or sadder? happier in some ways, sadder in others
II. thinner or fatter? fucking fatter
III. richer or poorer? the same

18. What do you wish you'd done more of? reading, writing, sewing, knitting, creating

19. What do you wish you'd done less of? watching tv

20. How will you be spending Christmas? I spent it with my family

22. Did you fall in love in 2005? Yes, with a puppy named Wiley

23. How many one-night stands? None of those

24. What was your favourite TV program? I watch a lot of tv and have many favorites

25. Do you hate anyone now that you didn't hate this time last year? no, i don't think i really have the energy to hate anyone- but my stepfather ranks pretty high on my "utter distaste" list

26. What was the best book you read? "A Million Little Pieces"

27. What was your greatest musical discovery? I don't pay too much attention to music, Bradley pays enough attention for the two of us

28. What did you want and get? I wanted a puppy, i got a puppy

30. What was your favourite film of this year? I just saw "Rumor Has It" and thought it was really good, I know probably not the best of my year, but i can't remember all the movies I've seen this year, i saw that one last week.

32. What one thing would have made your year immeasurably more satisfying? Not constantly feeling like I settled for this life

33. How would you describe your personal fashion concept in 2005? lazy

34. What kept you sane? this boy I think is cute although he did drive me insane some of the time also

35. Which celebrity/public figure did you fancy the most? I do enjoy Ryan Gosling

36. What political issue stirred you the most? Sadly I don't take part in political issues, I should change that for next year

37. Who did you miss? I miss my friends and I miss my aunt Joanne but they're two different kinds of longing, one is the kind that could change if I wanted it to and the other will never change because she is gone forever.

38. Who was the best new person you met? Erin- I miss her

39. Tell us a valuable life lesson you learned in 2005: I'm trying to get through my head that life is short and you should live each day doing something that makes you happy, hopefully this time next year I will have learned it fully.

40. Quote a song lyric that sums up your year: In some ways I feel like I spent the year being useless..what song lyric would some that up?

I am bored. Bored with my job, bored with my life. Lately, I'm constantly wondering what happened to me. I try to think back to an actual point where I gave up but I can't which just makes me wonder more what happened? I'm tired and bored all the time, which just makes me more tired and bored. I'm looking for something to be excited about again.
My job is over at the end of the week. I will once again be jobless. Part of me is freaking out and part of me is relieved in a way. God knows I don't want to end up like the ladies I work with. They're all very nice but their lives are not for me.

If you know me in any way I'm wondering what do you think I would be good at in life? I'd love to hear what people respond to this question with.

Christmas was lovely but tiring (that may be spelled wrong), having the obligation to visit every family member within a 50 mile radius is not fun. I think next year we're going on vacation for Christmas, sounds like a good idea to me, somewhere sunny. Somewhere to head off my winter blues.

My momma bought me a kitchenaide mixer for christmas and I'm so excited to use it. I think my first project will be those little french cookies called madeleines, i love those.

I need a nap, back to work tomorrow.

Hope everyone had a fabulous holiday!

Dear Santa...

Dear Santa,

This year I've been busy!

In January I gave [info]xxdelishiexx a wet willie, then I took it back (-5 points). In November I gave [info]yessnooo a life-saving blood transfusion (50 points). Last Tuesday I caught a purse-snatcher who stole [info]demanticonizmyx's purse (30 points). Last month I broke [info]inbaloutball's X-Box (-12 points). Last Sunday I got in line at the supermarket at the same time as someone else and I didn't yield (-8 points).

Overall, I've been nice (55 points). For Christmas I deserve a pony!

Sincerely,

Master Cleanse [05 Dec 2005|10:45am]
I have decided to do the Master Cleanse Diet. Last night I drank the laxative tea.

This morning I am trying to gag down the salt water, 1 quart not gonna happen. I'll be lucking if I can get down 24 oz. It's not easy. Then for the rest of the day all I can drink is the lemonade which is a mixture of: fresh squeezed organic lemon juice, grade b maple syrup, water and cayenne pepper. It actually doesn't taste bad, it's the salt water that's killing me. I'll update again later. I have not eaten since 5:30 last night and I am not happy about it.

So I lasted about 30 hrs. without eating and then I ate because I was cleaning out I was just starving myself. I plan to try again after the holidays. Oh Well. I really wasn't pleasant. I really like eating.
